When a tooth is severely damaged, lacking structure due to caries, trauma or treatment it needs a more sophisticated restoration. This restoration is called an inlay or inlay. It covers at least two or more surfaces and protects the remaining cusps as well as restoring them. It can be made from composite(lab made) which is more durable than a regular filling.
